Thankfully I'm a keeper AND a purger. I do purge when I feel like I've given something a reasonable chance to be useful. And that's always a very generous reasonable opportunity for usefulness. Never got used? I don't keep it.

That's one reason why I make a point to use nearly all of my favorite things at least once a year. Favorite things as in glass serving pieces. Occasional bits of pewter and silver serving pieces. I've started using odd things (like pewter and silver serving pieces) as a foundation for center pieces on the dining table which are easy to move when wiping or eating a big meal. I make a different one for most seasons. I use almost all of my vintage glass vases at least once a year as well. Can't let Jeff think they aren't getting proper attention or he'll start dusting and polishing them to see if they still have any value! hehe

Abby is delightful, I agree, but what does one DO with blue spaghetti?
Can you tell I'm not a grandma?

I can pick up a ball of yarn and be transported back to where I was in life when I acquired it. I need to thin out my stash, but I'm just not ready yet.

Abby--adorable as always.

How true! I already can't get my daughter to accept any of the wonderful things I want to get out of my house but don't want to have the on display at the local Goodwill store. She doesn't want them. So we compromised. She took them to a Goodwill store that's in a different county.

And I recently destashed by having a yarn yard sale. That was a little painful too. But the idea of some spending money won out in the end. Besides, you can hardly tell I got rid of so much yarn.

And thanks for the warning about these long-lasting colds. I'm still feeling the effects when I try to do too much. Especially the housecleaning part.

Karen

I recently got rid of all my crystal and china I never used any more that my kinds didn't want. It felt great!
Happy Thanksgiving!

Donna

Remember, you'll still have all of the memories that came with anything you get rid of. Happy Thanksgiving!

Gina

Can you make use of the glasses and goblets? Have a little holiday party and use them. Use them for every day. If they are things you love, use them now.

Tam

Abby is sooooooo adorable. Enjoy that blue spaghetti while you can!
