THOUSANDS

I’ve had a busy weekend revolving around knitting. It can now be said that I am one in a thousand.  The 1000 Knitters project that is. Franklin Habit came to Threadbear yesterday, and over a hundred more knitters have been captured on….hmm, film doesn't apply anymore…. digitized for posterity.

It is a testimony to this young man’s personality and skill that he put a camera-leary person like me completely at ease. Even before he started shooting, I thought….oh yeah…have your way with me. You can let your camera do whatever it wants to me.

Afterward though, I’m having some misgivings. I hope Franklin is good with Photoshop. No more than one chin please. Lighten up the under-eye bags. Please please please get rid of the parentheses around my mouth.

Enough vanity. The bestest part of the day was the stellar company. Dirty Sue was at her dirtiest. Kat was as cute as ever. Kristi and Marcia are like bookends of funny comments. Eweniss is always a good sheep, and her two lambs are delightful young ladies.

I took my camera, but never pulled it out of my purse. So I will entertain you all with Abby’s first knitting lesson earlier in the week. I decided to let her get acquainted with a ball of yarn.

She quickly discovered the joys of a center-pull skein.

She’s a knitting natural, that’s for sure. I bet I could teach her to frog in no time.

Today was Knitting for Others, a monthly guild-sponsored event where a companionable group meets at the bookstore to knit and nosh and chatter. We had a newcomer to the group today….welcome, Amanda. 

Here is my current knitting for others project….

A  pair of socks destined to be a gift for a good friend. Aha…now there are a thousand people out there wondering if I mean YOU. Who can tell….I’ll leave you all guessing.

i'll bet she doesn't even need to be taught to frog, i think w/ little darlings it comes naturally!
it was a fun day saturday.

i forgot i have an appointment in tecumseh on wednesday so i won't be there but the next for sure.
