Chris

We conceived our daughter 2 weeks after my grandfather died, yes I know exactly when it was. And she arrived 2 weeks after my aunt died. So there is an exchange of life sometimes.

Lolita comes to mind.

Have a great trip! Enjoy that baby.

caroline

I'm sorry for your SO's loss. And for yours, too, Sharon.

For your new Sharon, too, how about Sonita? as in, So KNIT, already...heh.

Kat

Sharon - I am sorry for your losses but the new babe makes it bittersweet. You are in my thoughts!

As for your double - She looks like Doris to me!

Karen

So sorry about your SO's father's passing Sharon.

Ok, here are my names... Stella, Lotus, Hillary, Venus or Edith. :)

Gina

Life is so strange how a little bundle is sent to help lift some of the pain. Still, I cannot (yet) understand how it feels to lose a parent. I reach out to you with my deepest sympathies -- even two years later. Enjoy the sunshine.

Laura Lou

I am thinking November is my dread Month I guess we all have a month that brings with it sadness and in your case some good news.
As for the name I think it should be
Sharing Pleaseknit.
Sounds like a twin doesn't it?
See you Wed

Kelley

Well since you are going to Disneyworld, let's start there:

Daisy
Minnie
Ariel
Cinderella (or Cindy for short)

Kristyn

I am so sorry about your SO's father passing away. Losing someone is very hard but even more so at the holidays.

As for your twin how about Karen or Ethel?

Pat K

She could appropriately be called Rose of Sharon, or just plain old Rosie.

Susan (Plum Texan)

Sharon, I'm so sorry for your family's loss. Big hugs (or warm handshakes...whatever you prefer :) ) to all of you.

Kelli

Henrietta comes to mind. As does Violet. I love violets. :) Or maybe Violetta? Kind of a cross between the two. lol

kristi and otis

Babette- she looks like a Babette - Bobette, how is it spelled? You get the idea.

Janet

I'm so sorry for the sad Decembers -- may you have happier things to celebrate about early Decembers in the future.

As for name suggestions, the first thing that came to mind when I saw her was Anna Nicole! :-)

Julia

Ya know, my pal, S t a c i over at verypink.com has an assistant/standin for her when she wants to photograph a new knit. She calls her Anne Bolyn because she is headless. I think it's funny, but I think your gal should have another name. Lola comes to mind. You know, whatever Lola wants, Lola gets. And Lola is happy being voluptuous or not. I totally want a double too.

Priscilla

How about Bella, Italian for "beautiful"?

Or Belladonna, for "beautiful lady"?

And if you're in a cynical or snarky mood, you could think of Belladonna's alternate meaning: a poisonous herbaceous plant that is a common weed in this area; aka "deadly nightshade."

LynnH

I have a friend who works at a funeral home, and right after every winter holiday there is a surge of business for them. You are not alone with sad December memories... my Grandpa Oscar made it to Thanksgiving but not to Christmas.

I'm honored by the prize... and I want to play even though I need not win, I've knit a LOT of those already, LOL.

Well I like ridiculous names like Melba but I'm so inclined to say Twiggy! LOL. I came of age when she was the only one wearing clothes in magazines.

I'm liking Venus, someone else's suggestion.

You could call her Babe, as in hey Babe, what's happening???

Then again I named my diary Gertrude in 1969. When that name was WAY out. So whatever...

Wish I had a double, that is the coolest thing in a long time.

mitchypoo

I like the name Ocho because you will be naming her in 2000...OCHO! I also like the name Claire.

Charlotte

I think her name should be Rosalind.

Kellie

Ooh a contest! I'm going to focus on that instead of whining that you're in my favorite place in the world! hehe...

So... *thinks* For some reason the name Maya keeps popping into my head. And it could be a code for "Made Another Yarn Accessory" hehe.. :) Yup, that's my vote.

Now I'm off to count how many more weeks until I'm in Disney World again. :)

dirty sue

cleopatra, you could wrap a snake around her neck or marie antoinette because of the headlessness.

Cindylou

Well Sharon, I think your double is named Norahs. Sharon backwards. . .

Priscilla

Hey, I also thought of Marie Antoinette for the same reason dirty sue cited.

And I thought of Norahs, just as Cindylou did.

Or how about B.D., for Body Double;

or E.T., for Evil Twin;

or Rosie the Riveted, since she's not going anywhere. Until you move her, anyway. ;-)

Priscilla

P.S. I meant to say that I expanded on Pat K's suggestion of Rose of Sharon--Rosie for short--when I suggested Rosie the Riveted. Oops! Sorry, Pat K.

Mama May

Looking at her lovely color I was thinking Ruby.

Another name could be Bittersweet.

Or Rose.

Bonnie/tinkknitz

This was easy.

Scarlett.

Missy

Bah, someone beat me to Scarlett. How about Lulabelle?

Sorry for your loss, 2007 is a bittersweet year for me as well.

Priscilla

How about Norma Desmond?

Peaceful Knitter

I was going to suggest Scarlet as well, shoot! Could you simply call her your Stunt Double? Or how about Rosie...

Sonia

How about Rosie the Stunt Double!

Linda

I really like the name Stella!

Aunt Kathy

Name the dummy...

Hmm... I had a few already mentioned... so let's go with something I haven't read here yet...

"BUSTED" hahahahaha

maylin

How about Isabel?

Bonney

So sorry for your loss; it's a tough time of year for such a loss. I'm crazy about the name Haven; it says a lot while being simple!

Christine

At first, I felt an irresistable urge to offer "Clarabelle" as your double's name (I have no idea why that name pushed itself forward, truly!) But then I thought about what your double will give you, and I decided on "Athena", since wisdom is a precious gift indeed.

SylvChezPlum

I like her generous hips and would call her Hippie...
I'm drooling over your prize..!
(Oh and check the contest on my blog too ! ;-) )

Nicole

I'd name it Carla.

Priscilla

How about something stalwart and steadfast like Martha? I've always wanted to name something Martha.

Or something strong, like Kate?

Or ... or ... Pearl?

Priscilla

How about Hope ... Hope for 2008, Hope for the future, Hope that next year will be kinder and better than this year ....
