I'm keeping my new blocking board very busy. First there was this....
Which is now this......
And see what's on it today......
So as 2006 winds down, I've now finished my most major project....Ballerina....a Hanne Falkenberg kit. She has occupied almost all my evenings for the last four and a half months. There's a huge sense of satisfied completion and job well done. Both these sweaters....Shizuka and Ballerina....fit me better than any that have come before. I will take a short rest for the rest of the month, and use my time to finish up some of the smaller projects I still have going.... thrummed mittens, several scarves, sewing up Abby's sweaters. I'll work on Audrey, although I don't expect to complete her immediately. And on New Year's Day, I will start a brand new project that's been patiently waiting for attention...the Merging Colors Adagio Shawl.
All this and I'm on level 31 of that stupid link I told you not to check out. Sounds like my warning comes too late for most of you. I have a confession to make. When I get too frustrated with a level, I cheat. I go to a spoiler page and find the answer. And you know what....a lot of the time, even when I do that....I still don't understand why the answer makes any sense at all. I like the ones where applying logic, actually decoding something, or making certain connections is what gets me to the next level. But the ones that require technical tweaking....knowing how urls are constructed, or deciphering the properties...that gets too esoteric for me. I'll keep going, but I'm not as enchanted with the riddles as I was at the start.
A little baby eye candy for those who like to see how Abby is growing. In this set of photos, she shows off her newest trick.
and she models a pair of fashionable Ugg boots that Jacque knit....
My granddaughter will never have to worry about shoeing her pretty little foot.
Abby is such a beautiful and fashionable little girl! Love your sweaters! The Ballerina is breath-taking---gorgeous colors and style!
