I would have slid from the January Blahs right into the February Doldrums if it weren't for my Pyramid Sweater project. This has kept me quite absorbed....I zipped through the first two pyramids, and I can't wait till tomorrow night's class when I can move ahead to join them and cast on for sleeves.
Kind of "in your face" colors, aren't they? I'm loving them, although I'm having a little difficulty with the intensity of the lime green stripe. I'm wishing I had limited it to one or two rows, and when I'm done with this post I'm going to try weaving some of the fuschia ribbon into that stripe to tone it down.
This reminds me of my Lunatic Fringe stole, except that had more purple in it. My last few projects have been much more subdued in color than I usually choose (Mom's Antarctica Jacket, the Dolores Shawl) so it's fun to let my wild side out again. I know that novelty yarns aren't everyone's cup of tea, and perhaps there are those who would nominate this sweater for a certain blogger's hall of shame. I'll take that risk; this is pure fun knitting.
JUST BEING ME
Lookie lookie what Vera sent me just for being me. She was in a gifting mood recently, and I was a lucky recipient, just because I was the first person to ever comment on her brand-new blog a year ago. Timing is everything, isn't it? She sent me 3 skeins of Polo, a super-soft cotton blend in a wonderful dark denim blue.
I think there's enough yardage to make another one of these great bags......
Everyone go visit Vera and tell her what a delight she is. And then go find a new blog and leave a comment for someone. You can never have enough good blog karma.
