...Sharonella was tired. Her feet hurt. She ate too much (oh, but it was yummy), and she danced a lot (oh, but it was fun), and it was a long drive home afterward (oh, but the prince held my hand). She saw the old year out, and the new year in, and she must be getting old, because they felt exactly the same.
Earlier in the day, Sharonella realized she HAD to start a new project. One that would be easy for car travel, and easy to work on when she sat out a dance. She knew exactly what she wanted to make…..
….yes, a moebius scarf. She ransacked her stash, and decided that the occasion called for something completely different from what she had on hand. Since she has not entered into any yarn non-buying pacts (unlike her step-knitsters Lynette and Monica) she dashed over to the local yarn palace where the Godfathers were happy to please her every whim.
A few minutes later, she dashed home with a skein of Colinette Giotto in hand, followed directions carefully, and did a mobius cast on just as Cat Bordhi suggested (A Treasury of Magical Knitting). Magic it is. 4 rounds are completed. 12 more and Sharonella will have a unique scarf to show the world.
Who needs magic wands and pumpkins? We have magic needles and yarn.
Happy new year to all. May this year bring lots of goodness to you all. There are a few things I'm hoping this year will bring for me personally. Like....
....I'm hoping my oldest son
will find a nice girl and settle down will continue to find adventure, but stay safe, in the various continents of the world.
....I'm hoping my middle son and his wife
will tell me I'm going to have a grandchild and they are relocating to Ann Arbor will continue to prosper and flourish way out there in the state of Washington.
....I'm hoping my baby girl will prosper and flourish as she returns to school for a master's degree and a teaching certificate.
....I'm hoping my mom and dad will have a joyous and reasonably healthy 65th wedding anniversary in the summer.
....I'm hoping I will have the extreme challenge of coping with becoming a sudden millionaire because I finally win big in the Publisher's Clearinghouse Sweepstakes (which they claim you can win even if you don't order their magazines, and I take them seriously and faithfully send in my claim forms every time I get one, but I order most of my magazines from ebay because they are seriously cheap that way).
....I'm hoping my SO will continue to believe that I am a perfect creature just exactly as I am, and not suddenly wake up and realize that I might have one or two detestable little flaws in my character or personality. (Let's see if I can keep him fooled for yet another year.)
....I'm hoping that Rob and Matt will come to their senses and realize that I send so much business their way, they should make me a silent partner....meaning I don't put up any money or have to actually do work, but I reap the benefits of picking whatever yarn I want whenever I want.
Well. A girl can dream, can't she?
This will be the last post before the contest drawing ends at midnight (EST) Sunday. Get your comments counted before then. I'll post the winner on Monday evening. (See 12/27 post for details.)
