LET'S TALK TURKEY
I’ve been wearing my shawl almost continuously, because I’m a vain peahen who wants to show it off. Predictably, the little woven-in ends have woven right out. The best idea I’ve gotten for taming those ends comes from my favorite fellows at Threadbear. Matt says….superglue. Yep, superglue those little suckers into submission.
So on my 5 day break (I get Wednesday off too) here’s what I’m doing:
- Supergluing the ends of my shawl
- Continuing the research on the Imac
- Taking a long hard look at the budget to see how to accommodate the Imac purchase
- Starting a pair of felted mohair mittens
- Updating my wishlist at Threadbear ( a certain Significant Other should take note)
- Knitting with Chey at the East Town Center Schulers on Wednesday evening (anyone want to join us?)
- Visiting the Apple Store in Novi
- Having lunch with my parents
- Having dinner with Lynn’s parents
- Spending the Chico’s coupons that are burning a hole in my wallet
- Contradancing (the most fun way to work off Thursday's dinner)
- Figuring out how to create sidebars in Wordpress for the MMKG Blog
There’s still a few open time slots. Anyone want to claim me?
Speaking of Chey, I taught this sweet young thing how to knit just two months ago, and look what she designed and knit this week. I love it when my students make me look good.
Here’s Chey……….
and
a closeup of her sweet confection of a baby cap.
All of a sudden I have a flurry of finished objects. Here’s the fastest knit ever. It’s a wonderful pattern created by Christi over at Threadbear, and as far as I know, it’s a Threadbear exclusive. I used up leftover alpaca from Matt’s Antarctica Sweater. This will complement Mom’s Antarctica Jacket perfectly. I should only knit the sweater this fast! I did adjust the pattern slightly so the woven “fingers” will fill in the shawl collar on the jacket in just the right spot.
And a closeup of the woven fingers......
If I don’t talk to everyone before Thursday, you all have a lovely Turkey Day.

You are one busy woman!
The shawl is gorgeous, I'd be wearing it continuously too.

Hi Sharon! Your shawl is so gorgeous! I love it. Also, thanks for the link to the provisional cast-on video clip. I've been wondering how to do that and am a big fan of the online video clips for the DIY's Knitty Gritty (but they haven't had a provisional cast-on one yet). Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
