MY SECRET NO LONGER PAL IS A SWEETHEART!
Hurray for Holly. Look what she sent. Amy Singer's new book. And a fabulous little gadget bag filled with useful knitter gadgets. And coffee and a biscotti. And little cherry candies. I feel pampered to bits. Thank you, sweet girl.
ANTARCTICA SWEATER NEARS COMPLETION
I've got two more rows to rib on the neck, and I'm done. Weave in a few ends. Block. Package. Mail. I cornered a cashier at the bookstore tonight, who was about Matt's height and weight and convinced him to try it on. It fits perfectly. It looks fabulous. I'm in love with this sweater, and I'm wishing it were mine. But it's not. So to lessen the pangs of giving it up, I went to Threadbear yesterday.
LORD OF THE YARNS
Gollums: Preciousss, you knows you wants it.
Sharo: No! I will be strong. I can resist. I have my magic ring. You can't make me buy this wonderful alpaca.
Gollums: Yesss, you wants it. You should have it.
Sharo: No. No. I won't buy it. See, here's my magic ring. It will protect me. It's right here. No, other pocket. No. Where's my ring? Where's my magic ring?
Gollums: You will buys it. You will. It's precioussss. You wants it.
Sharo: My ring! Where is my ring? Gandalf, help me! Aragorn, help me! I've lost the ring. I've bought 10 skeins of alpaca. I'm powerless under its spell. Help! Help!
I couldn't help it. I have to have something made of this wonderful yarn for myself. I have to. It's okay. Margene told me to. Here's what she said: "You're worth it...just do it!" So I did. I think Margene is really Gollums.

What did I say about my knitting buddies? Enablers, all of them! Especially Margene.

Did aragorn show up? If so send him my way. No I don't need him, I just WANT him! I can just see you convincing that poor boy to try on the sweater!!

He, he, he...evil laugh. Gotta pass on the karma that gets me in trouble. AND Typepad is very cool! I just wish they would let us know BEFORE they change something.

That alpaca is yummy yarn. I bought one skein for socks. I'm afraid Margene is just passing along all the enabling she's been getting from Lynette and I so you should really blame us and not Margene!

Yup. Margene, Lynette, Monica - all enablers. If they would just STOP this creativity and awesome knitting, we might just all have a few more cents in the bank. Typepad - COULD THEY JUST LET US KNOW AHEAD OF TIME SO WE CAN PREPARE OURSELVES??

You convinced a stranger to try on the sweater? The only thing wrong with that is no picture. By the way, I'm going to be at KnitFest, but only on Friday (family wedding tragically scheduled during Nancy Bush's two color knitting class Saturday). If you're going to be there Friday, let me know!

I've been away from blogging for a week planning my guild's Knit Out, and I was delighted to see the new features on Typepad--especially spell check.
