MEETUP
What can you do to turn a gloomy cold rainy weekend into a warm wonderful fun time? It takes just 3 ingredients:
1. Have a big contradance weekend hosted in your own city. Have 150 or so good friends and acquaintances show up to dance to great music. Have everyone be excited to be there. Have some of those dancers also be knitters, and watch their reaction the first time they experience Threadbear. Here's Jo and Jim, contradance friends from Chicago. This picture was taken shortly after they arrived in the store. Jo already has an armful of yarn. Jim won't go home empty-handed; he carried out a good armful of Philosopher's Wool for a poncho he is crocheting. They are posing in the village of Manos.
2. Have a group of bloggers and knitters from the Chicago area come to Threadbear for a field trip. Meet up with them and go out to lunch together. In this picture, you'll spot Monica, one-half of PassionKnit, and Gail of Knittergail, and 5 of their knitting friends. Lynette (the other half of PassionKnit) is missing, due to family obligations. Lynette sweetie, you WERE missed. Monica is on the far left of the picture, Gail is just in front of her, and I'm on the far right.
3. Have it be your birthday weekend. The fun started Thursday night, when I had dinner with my parents, my daughter and her boyfriend, and my son Josh, who is in town for a wedding. And my significant photographer, of course. He has a cd full of pictures to give to me, and I'll show a few in a day or two. Wait till you see the amazing yarn photography he has produced for me. I ran into Chey at Threadbear today also, and she said "Oh, I have a present for you. I'll bring it by tomorrow." Presents!!!!!!! I love presents!!!!! I will show off in my next post. Wait till you see the special gifts from Monica and Lynette too. What delightful women they are. For now, here's Chey with her mom, picking out yarn for an elegant scarf.
Tonight, more dancing. Tomorrow, more Threadbear. This is all it takes to make rainbows out of rain.

Happy Birthday weekend Sharon!!:) I'm looking forward to seeing the yarn resulting from the weekend.

Sharon, I'm a day late (probably a dollar short, too!), but I wanted to wish you a very happy birthday. Judging from your Saturday post, you were on track to have a great weekend, birthday or not, and I hope things continued to be fabulous all weekend long.
