Where to begin? Let's start with the people. Once again, I've been able to meet a few knitbloggers in person, and once again, they are as enjoyable as their blogs. On Friday morning, I met with Monica and Lynette of Passionknit for a fast hour. We chatted away non-stop, bouncing from one topic to the next, and agreed that we would continue the conversation when these two lovely ladies come to visit Threadbear next month. Monica is my new best friend, because she brought me chocolate. ..
And Lynette is my other new best friend just because she's delightful, and because she didn't eat up the chocolate mints before I got them. Here we all are...(Monica, me, Lynette)/
There's another picture of us with Sarah on her blog. Later that day, Sarah and I had lunch with Chris from Chrisknits.
Sarah has a great picture of us on her blog as well, so I won't post it here. Chris is gracious and funny, and lunch was a relaxing treat in the midst of the hectic Marketplace.
One of the neatest things about Stitches was the constant fashion show going on around us, as people appeared in their beautiful knitted apparel. There were sweaters and tops everywhere, and of course ponchos and shawls were extremely popular. Felted bags, and scarves were in abundance also. But one item stood out among everything for me. Here's a picture of my most favorite item of the entire weekend. It's worn by a sweet young lady named Annie, who works for Interweave Knits Magazine. She did not make this crocheted dress....it's one of Lily Chin's crocheted creations. I am awed by this.
People were the best part of Stitches. In particular my own homies, Sarah, Irene, Sheila, Marcia, Wendy, and Denise. In spite of the fact that they all enabled my chocolate addiction (along with Monica!), and I am not going to weigh myself for at least a week in hopes of making up for the bad influence that they all were.
I'll talk about the classes and my stash in a few days. But I'll leave you with this picture of something else that I did while attending Stitches. I spent an entire morning being pampered in the spa.
