A little anxiety never hurt; it is invasive surgery and things can happen. I had a lot of anxiety before my knee replacement.

About all the instructions. I had plenty and they didn't always match. When in doubt, call the surgeon's office. He probably doesn't know what should happen after you leave the hospital, but his staff should.

I had the full complement of folks show up at the house after I got home. The point is to be sure that you are healing properly, that you can handle things at home. In my case the OT showed up once, saw that the house was set up to be accessible, I could do basic stuff on my own, Jan could take care of me when needed, and didn't come back. Once I was feeling pretty confident (and cabin fever had set in big time) I asked to be released from home care. Then I could do the outpatient PT. Don't go there until you have an order for it written by someone with MD or DO after the name; otherwise insurance isn't going to cover it.

We're all pullling for a successful surgery and recovery. See you next week,
Jane
